Account SWOT

Generate a structured SWOT analysis scoped to a single customer account to assess renewal health and relationship dynamics.

Goal

Produce a concise, account-scoped SWOT analysis identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats specific to a customer relationship and upcoming renewal.

Trigger

Invoke when preparing for a renewal conversation, QBR, or account health review for a specific customer.

Steps

  1. 1

Analyze the account notes, CRM data, or relationship summary provided below: $account_notes

    • Account name and renewal date are identifiable
    • At least one data point exists per SWOT quadrant
  2. 2

Identify 3–5 Strengths: internal advantages specific to this account relationship — e.g. executive sponsorship, deep product adoption, strong NPS scores, long tenure, or champion engagement.

    • Each strength is grounded in a concrete signal from the account notes
    • Strengths are relationship- or usage-specific, not generic product claims
  3. 3

Identify 3–5 Weaknesses: internal vulnerabilities in this account — e.g. low seat utilization, unresolved support tickets, missing executive sponsor, limited team training, or single-threaded relationships.

    • Each weakness points to a specific risk vector
    • Weaknesses are honest and not softened into neutrality
  4. 4

Identify 3–5 Opportunities: external or strategic upside that could strengthen the renewal — e.g. expansion into new teams, upsell of adjacent products, alignment with the customer's stated business goals, or an upcoming initiative where your solution adds value.

    • Opportunities are actionable and tied to a real customer need or growth signal
    • At least one opportunity suggests a concrete next step
  5. 5

Identify 3–5 Threats: external risks to the renewal — e.g. competitive pressure, budget freezes, org restructuring, a champion who has left, or unresolved dissatisfaction that could trigger churn.

    • Threats are specific and named, not vague
    • Each threat includes a rough likelihood or urgency signal
  6. 6

Produce a 2–3 sentence Renewal Outlook summary that synthesizes the SWOT into an overall renewal risk rating (Green / Yellow / Red), the single most critical action to take before renewal, and the primary threat to mitigate.

    • Risk rating is explicitly stated with justification
    • One clear recommended next action is named

Output format

Return four labeled sections (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), each as a numbered list of 3–5 concise bullet points with a one-sentence rationale per item. Follow with a 'Renewal Outlook' paragraph containing the risk rating, top action, and primary threat. Keep total output under 600 words.
